Molly Oliver Flowers
Molly Oliver Flowersis a sustainable floral design business run by Brooklyn farmers Molly Culver of the Youth Farm and Deborah Greig of East New York Farms!. Molly and Deborah met on the NYC urban farming scene in 2005 – one working in the South Bronx, the other in East New York – to increase access to fresh produce through longstanding community based organizations. They each have been farming for 10 years, and both hold Certificates in Ecological Horticulture at the UC-Santa Cruz Farm and Garden, the country’s most prestigious training program in organic farming.
Lovers of Brooklyn, small farmers, and flowers, Molly and Deborah banded together to bring authentic, natural flower arrangements featuring locally-grown, seasonal blooms to Brooklyn and beyond. They’ve created a strong network of local farmers and enjoy sourcing from their own farms as well as others.
Meet Molly and learn more about work as an urban farmer/florist in her recent interview with Debra Prinzing, of Slow Flowers.com.
While we always work with fresh, seasonal stems, we’re flexible on aesthetics. Working with us, you will get beautiful arrangements that reflect your style and suit your needs while benefiting small farmers, the local economy, and the earth. Proceeds from flowers purchased from our partner educational farms support sustainable agriculture educational programs for youth and adults around the city, as well as Brooklyn soil: all un-claimed flowers go to compost production at The Youth Farm and the Brooklyn Grange.
We offer full-service floral design for events and weddings large and small. We marry our strong organization and communication skills with fierce commitment to locally-sourced flowers, and an aesthetic bent towards the wild and unpredictable. Whatever your vision, we’re open to exploring and creating.
We also offer DIY wedding support: if you want to get hands-on and design your own, we’ll provide fresh, seasonal flowers a day before to your chosen design team.
We offer a free 1-hour consultation to discuss your desired look, rates, and flower availability. For inquiries please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 646 623 6137. Cheers!
