Dear Slow Flowers Member,

I’m reaching out today to all members who self-identify in our Flower Farmer category. I want to share with you a new opportunity and sales channel that we’ve established with LandscapeHub. This strategic partnership is a member-only benefit.

Here is some background:

We know that now, more than ever, our members are seeking new customer channels during the COVID-19 pandemic. One of those perhaps overlooked or ignored opportunities is to use your farming skills to sell plants (including potted and bare root) into the retail and commercial nursery marketplace. You know how to grow plants – there is no doubt! But have you explored selling plants? We know that some of our members are growing and marketing cutting garden annuals and perennials, vegetable starts, bulb packs and other horticultural products to their customers. Those customers may find you through a grocery store program, farmers’ market, on-farm or pop-up plant sales or through your own retail channel.

And now, our partners at LandscapeHub are offering you a new channel to sell on their platform which supplies retail and commercial nurseries and landscapers. LandscapeHub is a new website for businesses to buy and sell plants and landscape materials. They are building—with buyers and quality suppliers—an online marketplace for the nursery and green industry.

LandscapeHub’s FAQ for suppliers

Here’s how it works for you:

Whether you have overproduction or whether you plan ahead to grow excess inventory, you have plants to sell. Say you have 100 units of 1-gallon lavender plants that you are not going to plant for your cut flower business. You then add them to the availability list on LandscapeHub. Buyers will see your inventory on offer and make a purchase through LandscapeHub. At that point LandscapeHub handles the logistics, the paperwork and you get paid in 30 days.

To support the Slow Flowers Community, LandscapeHub is offering a 5% discount for our members who sell plants on the LH marketplace (10% transaction fee versus the standard 15% fee).

If you are interested, please do the following:

  1. Visit landscapehub.com and watch the introductory Video: LandscapeHub: How Does it Work?
  2. Sign up for a demonstration.
  3. Attend a webinar in early September (date TBD).
  4. Sign up to join LandscapeHub as a seller/supplier. When signing up please include slow flowers when asked about how you heard about LandscapeHub.

Thanks so much for your passion and commitment to sustainability. I am eager to learn how this opportunity works for you. Please get in touch with any questions,

warmly,

Debra Prinzing, Slow Flowers LLC
